Coyote Point Systems, leader in affordable application delivery for small and medium sized businesses, has announced the release of Equalizer VLB to the UK market.

Equalizer VLB works with existing Coyote Point load balancing systems and the VMware management API to increase high availability and acceleration of VMware virtual servers. Monitoring server performance in real time, Equalizer VLB makes better traffic flow management decisions based on server status to optimise performance and efficiency. Equalizer VLB provides organisations with compelling benefits such as increased continuity through non-stop availability. Further to this, a reduction in the number of servers means less capital expense, and a reduction the ongoing operational and environmental costs associated with this, such as power, cooling and management issues.

Coyote Point’s Equalizer VLB provides:

• Non-stop high availability and intelligent traffic management for Virtual Machine applications running on virtualised servers.
• Virtual servers can be further optimised with SSL acceleration for secure transactions and Web compression to speed up page downloads.
• Virtual servers can now achieve disaster recovery/business continuity with provisions for instant failover to a backup site.
• Remote access via single IP address for users of Virtual Desktop Infrastructure (VDI), such as Microsoft Terminal Services and Citrix XenApp. The Equalizer load balancer handles the routing of application requests to the appropriate server.

UK and Ireland Coyote Point Distributor, ipcortex, confirmed the availability of Equalizer VLB to the UK market, scheduled for late May. ipcortex Director, Rob Pickering commented, “Coyote Point are experts in guaranteeing application availability on real servers. Equalizer VLB is currently available in the UK as Phase One of Coyote Point’s VMware Infrastructure integration. This VLB Beta is available to existing Coyote Point customers as a free download (compatible with E350si, E450si and E550si load balancers), and is already bundled in with the new E650si load balancer. Phase Two is planned for release in late 2008, and will be a cost effective software license upgrade for tighter VMware integration.
