web ticket sales rocket for national theatre

1st December 2004

Today's Guardian has a story about how RPA customer The National Theatre has seen reliability and capacity of it's web ticket sales improve massively since implementing a new load balanced server architecture.

In the article, Peter Talbot, the NT's IT Manager says of their booking service: "NT traffic is very peaky, most of the time we're never near capacity but when we open booking on a new booking period, it takes off." On day one of booking for Alan Bennett's The History Boys, the box office took £270,000. The first couple of hours was "a bit too busy", says Talbot. "It hasn't gone down since we put the Equalizer in."
