network/voip support engineer

We currently have a vacancy for a capable and enthusiastic engineer within our technical team. The post is based at our Bletchley Park offices.

The highly varied work involves implementing and supporting desktop, network and VoIP systems using a wide range of technologies.

The successful applicant will be joining an existing expert team who will be available to support and assist in developing appropriate technical and product specific knowledge. This role presents an ideal opportunity for a quick learner with basic desktop and networking knowledge to gain experience and new skills in VoIP technologies. Because of this, large amounts of relevant experience are not required, but the following fundamental skills are important:

  • Good understanding of TCP/IP networking fundamentals
  • Appropriate desktop skills based on a number of technologies including basic Microsoft products as well as Open software (Thunderbird, Open Office etc).
  • Basic knowledge of Linux or BSD based systems
  • At least an appreciation of VoIP fundamentals
  • A methodical approach to work and problem solving with an ability to learn very quickly
  • Good self-management skills: the ability to follow tasks from initial information gathering and planning through to successful completion without excessive supervision
  • Very high quality written and spoken English
