new demo suite at bletchley park

Bletchley, Milton Keynes - Friday 20th Jan 2006 - ipcortex completes new demo suite at Bletchley Park.

Prospective UK users and resellers of VoIP technology will be able to try out a number of different technologies all in one place from next Monday.

Leading UK VoIP and converged network specialist ipcortex has completed the build of its new demo suite at Bletchley Park, near Milton Keynes and opens for the first customers on Mon 23rd Jan.

Interoperating systems from Aastra, Linksys, Sipura, snom, Hitachi and other key vendors, as well as the company's own ground breaking PABX are all available for customers to sample and conduct technical evaluations prior to implementation at their own site.

ipcortex director Rob Pickering said at the launch: "It is very exciting for us to be able to bring customers in and demonstrate our own disruptive technology in the context of this historic site."

In many ways, the whole site is one large scale demonstration of converged networks and VoIP technology. The Bletchley Park Science and Innovation Centre uses an ipcortex multi-tenant PABX system, and a linked small business ipcortex Compact PABX is in use in the administrative offices of the Bletchley Park Trust. An ipcortex converged voice and data network links the historic buildings on the site to provide advanced services in a difficult physical environment consisting of listed buildings within an important historical site.

During World War II the German armed forces' top secret codes were broken at Bletchley Park, providing the Allies with vital information towards their war effort. Situated 50 miles North-West of London, Bletchley played host to a diverse group of code breakers. Among the ciphers that were broken were Enigma and Lorenz. As part of this work, the world's first programmable electronic computer, Colossus, was developed. A rebuild of this historic device is on display at the site which is now the home of the Bletchley Park Trust and Bletchley Park Science and Innovation Centre.

Bletchley Park is adjacent to Bletchley Railway station, just 40 mins from London Euston with good access to the North via the West Coast Main Line and M1 which is nearby. The site is also exactly half way between Oxford and Cambridge giving quick access from the East of England and Thames Valley. All of this makes it an ideal location for ipcortex to serve the needs of customers throughout the UK.
